My Approach
Together, we will explore past experiences, belief systems, and unconscious patterns that may be contributing to your current struggles. I also work relationally, which means I believe the relationship that we create together is in itself a crucible for change. This holistic approach allows us to uncover and address the underlying causes of your challenges, rather than just the surface symptoms.
As performing arts teacher for many years before retraining, my draw to the creative arts and my rejection of the certainties of 'right answers' have reinforced my interest in the fluidity of possibility and the understanding that there is not one 'truth'. This perspective allows me to appreciate the complexity and uniqueness of each individual.
In my practice, I embrace an integrative therapeutic approach that considers the interconnectedness of various life aspects, including thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationships. I recognise that vulnerability sits between our ability to tolerate the gaze of another and to reveal our true self.
My background in education and the arts connect my interest in what lies beneath our words and deeds and how we discover who we are through our relationships. Retraining as a psychotherapist allowed me to harness my creativity and to further my understanding of how we individually make sense of ourselves and the world around us.
